*Several Anita Baker’s fans claim the soul singer got testy with the crowd during her tour stop in Dallas last week.
Two videos show seemingly tense moments during Baker’s concert in Houston’s Toyota Center Friday night. At one point, she appears to exchange words with several people in the front row, TMZ reports.
One clip shows the R&B icon telling some fans to stop recording. There’s another moment where she calls on security to boot a few people.
Several fans on social media call it a messy moment, while “Others claimed she seemed to miss some lyrics … and alleged her performance, overall, was relatively short-lived and somewhat sloppy,” TMZ writes. Watch the TikTok clip below.

On X/Twitter, one person wrote, “It is said that she was rude, couldn’t remember her lyrics and only sang about five song.”
Another user noted, “I noticed a lot of ya’ll go back & forth with children born in the 2000 about music when they have no real appreciation for music legends & at minimum their parents didn’t put them on to Anita Baker…couldn’t be me.”
“Y’all talmbout Anita Baker was rude at her Houston show and wasn’t even there. I was lol. The person who was there and posted was tripping too bc everyone of us in my section knew exactly what was going on. Ppl were getting carried away, rushing the stage, interrupting the show,” one Baker fan added.
