*The rent may be too damn high for Angela Simmons, but even she can’t avoid the consequences of not paying said rent.
The social media fixture has been ordered by the court to pay nearly $50,000 in back rent to her former landlord. The court’s decision stems from a lawsuit an apartment leaser filed against Simmons for failing to uphold a contract.
According to media sources, the suit goes back to October 2019, when Simmons began renting a penthouse in Randolph, New Jersey. Details from the lawsuit reveal the landlord reportedly claimed that insufficient payments from the 36-year-old businessperson increased as she was only giving partial rent payments throughout her time living in the penthouse. The payments, which were often late, resulted in a major amount of late fees and unpaid rent.
Although a lawsuit was filed, Simmons seemingly did not respond to it, the Jasmine Brand noted. A default ruling from a court judge ultimately arrived as Simmons was ordered to pay the leaser approximately $48,000 in “late fees, unpaid rent, repairs, and other housing costs.”
As it stands now, it looks like no public response to the judgment has been given by Simmons, in addition to her reps, who have also been silent on the situation, reports the jasmine brand.
Meanwhile, it looks like Simmons’ love life has hit a bump in the road. Based on the rumor mill, her relationship with rapper Yo Gotti has reached its expiration date.
We’re hearing that he supposedly got caught cheating on her. Gotti reportedly split the scene and is back with his previous ex whose only known moniker is “Nurse.” Keep in mind that as of yet, neither Angela or Gotti have responded to the breakup rumors.
In addition to the break-up rumors, Simmons has been dropping jaws due to some new pics she shared recently on the ‘Gram. Several of the shots show her posing in a black see-through lingerie piece. Interestingly, because of her body language in the pics, uploaded on Nov 9, some were speculating that the couple was having problems.
“She looks uncomfortable,” one person commented about the pics.
