*The family of late dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss is calling out his widow Allison Holker for revealing in a new interview that he had addiction problems.
One relative revealed a shocking detail on social media, claiming Holker made tWitch’s family members sign an NDA to attend his funeral. A person claiming to be Stephen’s cousin wrote on X, “She’s been trying to tarnish his legacy and refuses to let the Boss family see the children. Only to exploit and LIE on my cousin. Hell no.”
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Holker revealed that she discovered Stephen’s drug addiction in a “very scary” moment before his funeral. Boss, who served as a co-executive producer for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and longtime deejay, died by suicide at age 40 in December 2022. Holker, also a dancer, claims she uncovered a “cornucopia” of drugs inside the home after his passing.
“I was with one of my really dear friends, and we were cleaning out the closet and picking out an outfit for him for the funeral,” she recalled.
“It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed. It was very alarming to me to learn that there was so much happening that I had no clue [about],” Holker continued.
“It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that,” she said.
Holker is catching heat for spilling this hot tea about tWitch. One popular X account wrote, “Why is Twitch’s widowed wife Allison Holker lying to media outlets that he was a drug addict when there were no drugs or alcohol found in his system when he passed? Then she makes his family sign an NDA to attend the funeral. She needs to be looked into. Something is off.”
Another critic commented: “At the end of the day, all Allison Holker is showing is that she was not her husbands safe space. He protected his kids from his personal issues, and she’s out here exposing them. No one needed to know outside of his family.”
According to X user @Charmqn2004, even Holker’s former manager slammed her for being shady.
“I’m not even gonna say it. But this white woman is doing everything BUT protecting her Black children and her Black husband‘s legacy. She could’ve kept this in her therapist’s office. SMH,” X user @TherealCANDIACE wrote.

Holker responded to a social media follower who criticized her PEOPLE interview and upcoming memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light,” in which, per the publisher, she “reveals how she has navigated the emotional and financial aftermath of Stephen’s choice, guided their three children in their grief while managing the outpouring from a well-meaning public, and reopened herself to the next chapter in her professional and personal life.”
After sharing the video of her PEOPLE interview, one of Holker’s Instagram followers commented, “This whole thing made me sad. He’s gone. Why tear apart this name? I was fully supportive about you moving in and being happy but this@paycheck was not worth disgracing his name.”
Holker responded, claiming she’s “Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support.” She also shared a post from a fan defending her actions.
“The fact that people are tearing [Holker] down, especially people that were supposed to be in her corner (former colleagues, friends, some of her late husbands family) when she has slowly started to work out the events of the last two years, and is hoping to share her story to HELP OTHERS is wild,” the supporter wrote.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Allison said, “It really hurts me that Stephen held everything in for as long as he did. He was always so strong for everyone.”
“I wish he would’ve felt comfortable asking for help, wanted to go to therapy and talk to his friends or loved ones,” she said.
Holker’s memoir drops on Feb. 4 from Harper Select.
