*Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) executive director Jennifer DeCasper are facing growing criticism from Republicans and the White House for unprofessional behavior and weak engagement, according to sources cited by NOTUS.
As Alternet.com reports, DeCasper, who previously ran Scott’s presidential campaign, has drawn particular scrutiny for filming staff greeting Scott at the airport on his birthday and posting the video on social media. She reportedly also allowed her small dog to roam a conference table during a meeting, leaving attendees “taken aback.” A GOP strategist called the duo “the most unprofessional I have ever seen.”
Scott, the first Black NRSC chair, is also criticized for not personally making candidate-recruitment visits or fundraising calls, leaving these responsibilities to staff. While he meets with recruits in Washington, party sources say it can be difficult to reach him or DeCasper when needed. The White House reportedly resents being excluded from the NRSC hiring process.

Despite these complaints, Scott set a fundraising record, raising $88 million in an off-year from an initial $3 million on hand, according to FEC filings. Republicans remain wary of upcoming elections, with six senators retiring and two appointed senators in Ohio and Florida up for reelection.
Additional controversies include DeCasper wearing a hoodie on Air Force One. Scott has also faced backlash for publicly rebuking Trump on X over a video depicting former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as apes.
With mounting complaints from senators, strategists, and the White House, insiders say frustration with Scott and DeCasper’s leadership is intensifying, leaving some Republicans questioning the direction of the party’s campaign arm.
