*Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing the woman suing Shannon Sharpe for sexual assault, says the sex tape at the center of the case will remain confidential as it plays a central role in their legal strategy.
Buzbee confirmed the existence of the footage but said the clip won’t be released to the media. “The only reason you know about the existence of a video recording is that Mr. Sharpe specifically referenced it in his bulls*** statement,” Buzbee told TMZ Sports. He clarified that the tape was shown to Sharpe’s attorneys during mediation and that Sharpe himself declined to view it. “We’ve never made any claims or threats about it and won’t do so,” Buzbee added. “We won’t be ‘releasing’ the video as it is key evidence in the case and will be treated as such.”
Sharpe previously addressed the clip in an April 22 Instagram post, describing it as “a 30-second clip of a sex tape that tries to make me look guilty and play into every stereotype you could possibly imagine.” He claimed the full recording is closer to 10 minutes and called on Buzbee to release the unedited version.
The lawsuit, filed earlier this month in Nevada, accuses Sharpe of multiple instances of rape and physical abuse during a relationship that began in 2023. The plaintiff, identified as OnlyFans model Gabriella Zuniga (referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit), alleges the most serious assaults occurred in Las Vegas in October 2024, with another in January 2025. She is seeking $50 million in damages.
Sharpe, 56, has denied all allegations, calling the case a “shakedown.” His lawyer, Lanny J. Davis, stated the suit is “filled with lies, distortions, and misrepresentations.”

Sharpe has stepped away from his broadcasting duties at ESPN while preparing to contest the claims in court. In a video statement, he addressed the lawsuit, saying it is “being orchestrated by Tony Buzbee… Tony Buzbee targets Black men.”
The case is still in early stages, and the court will ultimately determine whether the evidence supports either side’s narrative.
