*Shannon Sharpe is facing a growing list of allegations, with his legal team pushing back against the latest claims.
Michele Bundy Evans, who first secured a restraining order against Sharpe over a decade ago, filed a defamation lawsuit in 2023. The case, recently detailed by The U.S. Sun, includes graphic accusations of a sexual assault allegedly occurring in 2010, NBC News reports. Responding to Evans’ claims, Sharpe’s attorney, Mitchell Schuster, issued a strong rebuttal. “It should be of no surprise that when someone famous is in the news, all sorts of people crawl out of the woodwork to share their connection to that person in an attempt to profit from that alleged relationship,” Schuster said.
He went on to criticize the allegations as a “fabricated narrative,” insisting, “Sadly, Ms. Evans became obsessed with Shannon and decided to manufacture a claim against him.”
According to Schuster, Evans had difficulty securing legal representation and ultimately filed her complaint independently. He further claimed that she served time in prison for a violent crime against her husband and remains on probation. The Evans case resurfaced in a new lawsuit filed on April 20, 2025, where it was referenced briefly in a footnote. Meanwhile, Sharpe’s team also addressed accusations made by Gabi Zuniga, also known as Karli, asserting that the relationship between Sharpe and the OnlyFans performer was consensual.
“This is a shakedown, pure and simple and we have the evidence to prove it,” Schuster stated, accusing her of attempting extortion after Sharpe refused to have a child with her.
Schuster maintained, “Shannon has done nothing wrong and intends to fight back against these malicious lies… with documentary proof and real evidence.” He indicated Sharpe would seek legal action against Gabi and her alleged collaborators.
In addition, Sharpe’s legal team clarified that his recent absence from ESPN’s First Take was voluntary.
“Shannon Sharpe was not terminated by ESPN,” Schuster explained. “He has elected to step away for a temporary period of time… ESPN agreed with his decision.”
