*A team of lawyers plan to file 120 sexual assault lawsuits against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami in the coming weeks.
Attorney Andrew Van Arsdale described the forthcoming lawsuits as “unprecedented in scope,” The Washington Post reports. The allegations involve both male and female victims aged between 9 and 38 at the time of the alleged assaults, which occurred over 20 years during the 2000s and 2010s.
“The biggest secret in the entertainment industry, that really wasn’t a secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world,” said Tony Buzbee, one of the lead attorneys, at a Houston press conference. “The wall of silence has now been broken.”
Combs is facing numerous accusations of sexual assault by women and men. He is currently being held without bond in a Brooklyn jail following his arrest last month on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He has denied all accusations against him as well as the claims in at least a dozen previous lawsuits.
Meanwhile, we reported earlier that the attorney representing Combs, Marc Agnifilo, has publicly stated that the federal government’s pursuit of his client is emblematic of a historical bias against successful Black men in America.
The criminal charges against the 54-year-old include racketeering, sex trafficking, and other allegations described as “abusing, threatening, and coercing women” over the years.
These claims date back to 2008 and were publicly highlighted in TMZ’s special, “The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment” streaming on Tubi.
Agnifilo emphasized that the allegations are rooted in the government’s scrutiny of successful Black entrepreneurs.
“They start making this case as a takedown of a successful black man. This is the government scrutinizing his business, scrutinizing his taxes, he does everything right,” he said.
