*Regé-Jean Page is preparing a return to Netflix in a major way, signing on to star in and executive produce the upcoming erotic thriller series “Hancock Park.”
As Deadline reports, the project, created by writer Matthew Barry, is set in the upscale Los Angeles neighborhood of the same name, and centers on a mysterious outsider played by Page. Per an official synopsis, Page’s character “invades the lives of a seemingly picture-perfect Los Angeles family — when he rents their backyard guest house.” His presence slowly begins to unravel the polished world around them. As the story unfolds, he exposes “the desire, deceit, and obsession that lurks around every corner of one of LA’s most-coveted neighborhoods.”
Page will executive produce alongside Barry, Emily Brown through A Mighty Stranger, and Drew Comins for Creative Engine, with Fifth Season serving as the studio. The actor also has additional projects in motion, including Universal’s upcoming romantic comedy “You, Me & Tuscany,” opposite Halle Bailey, scheduled for release in April.

Beyond that, Page is developing a film adaptation of “The Count of Monte Cristo” at Department M as well as “Funny You Should Ask,” a television adaptation of Elissa Sussman’s bestselling novel. Both projects are designed as starring vehicles for him.
These projects arrive after reports describing a challenging period in Page’s career following his breakout in “Bridgerton.” One insider told Life & Style, “Regé had an amazing lucky break in Bridgerton… and made the smart decision to jump off of that show to cash in and make movie money, but to say it hasn’t quite worked out as planned is a massive understatement.”
Sources cited the lukewarm performance of “The Gray Man” and “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” as setbacks. Page is reportedly in “rebuilding mode” and “needs a new franchise, and another fresh start, and he needs it yesterday!”
