*LeBron James, having just secured his third gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, claims he could win an Olympic medal in 2 other sports.
He made the bold statement recently on his show “The Shop.” The Los Angeles Lakers star suggested that, given enough training, his athletic abilities could earn him medals in both the high jump and long jump events, Clutch Points reports.
“There’s zero competition that I can compete in without preparation, but I think maybe the long jump?” James said. “I think I can do the long jump, maybe, or the high jump. If you give me some time, I need about six months, eight months, or whatever of preparation to get to that.”
Meanwhile, NBA fans were ecstatic to see James team up with longtime rival Steph Curry, 36, to secure gold for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Curry opened up to PEOPLE about setting aside their past rivalry and joining forces.
“All the battles we’ve had on the court and the back and forth, the fact that we actually got to be teammates, not just in any game like an All-Star game or whatever, but in high stakes basketball with a lot on the line…I think there’s a deepened respect and friendship there,” Curry said.

“Hopefully, there will be more experiences in the future, even if we’re teammates or not,” he added, noting that he and James “still have to compete against each other” once the NBA season kicks off in October.
“I posted the picture of us holding our medals,” said Curry. “There’s a sense of pride being an Olympian.”
LeBron James led Team USA to a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, marking his third gold and fifth overall medal. He also won bronze in Athens in 2004. He confirmed that the Paris Games would be his final Olympics. Los Angeles is hosting the next summer games in 2028.
