*Model Jessica White, known for her work with Victoria’s Secret and her appearances on “America’s Next Top Model,” is facing a wave of criticism after making controversial comments about bisexuality and gender.
In a TMZ interview on March 4, 2026, at an Endometriosis Awareness Month event in Beverly Hills, White shared her personal view on sexual exploration, stating that it’s acceptable for women to be bisexual, but that the idea of a bisexual man gives her “the ick.”
The headline from the interview, “Jessica White Only Women Can Be Bi … Not Men!!!” quickly went viral, igniting a fierce debate on social media platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
“It Gives Me the Ick”
In the casual street interview, White explained her perspective by pointing to societal double standards. She suggested that women are granted more freedom to explore their sexuality, while men face harsher judgment. However, her attempt to highlight this disparity was seen by many as simultaneously endorsing it.
The comments were divisive, with one Instagram user pushing back firmly: “People can do what they want, you don’t have to like it.”
Another viewer echoed this sentiment, writing, “Imagine telling GROWN people with free will what is acceptable.” A third commenter highlighted the perceived hypocrisy, asking, “Why is it ok for a woman but not a man?”

While a minority of users agreed with White’s assessment—echoing the stereotype that bisexual men are “actually gay” or that their sexuality compromises their masculinity—the majority of the response was critical. Many labeled the comments as hypocritical, outdated, and biphobic.
Critics point to the contradiction in White’s message: she acknowledges a harmful double standard in society yet uses that same standard to justify her personal “ick.” Major psychological and LGBTQ+ organizations affirm that bisexuality is a valid and distinct sexual orientation for people of all genders, and that perpetuating the stigma against bi men contributes to their erasure and marginalization.
A History of Discussing Non-Monogamy
This is not the first time White has spoken publicly about complex relationship dynamics. The conversation has also led to a re-examination of her past comments regarding her on-and-off relationship with Nick Cannon. The pair split in 2020 after a multi-year romance.
During a 2023 episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, White opened up about the relationship’s structure. She claimed she had recently left an “eight-year relationship” in which Cannon was permitted to see other women. “I wasn’t allowed to have other partners, but he was,” she alleged at the time, describing the dynamic as a form of polyamory that was unequal.
In light of her recent comments, some social media users have pointed to this history as evidence of a complicated and perhaps contradictory view of relationships and sexual freedom.
White’s remarks, made during a month dedicated to raising awareness for endometriosis, have instead sparked a broader conversation about gender norms, biphobia, and the societal expectations placed on men and women regarding their sexuality. The debate underscores the ongoing cultural tension between personal preference and the push for equal acceptance of all sexual orientations.
