*Apple TV+ has unveiled the official trailer for the second season of “Criminal Record,” offering a fresh look at the next chapter of the critically acclaimed crime thriller ahead of its global return on April 22. The eight-episode season will debut with its first installment on premiere day, followed by weekly releases through June 10.
Set in modern-day London, the series continues to center on complex investigations shaped by uncertainty and competing perspectives. Created by BAFTA Award nominee Paul Rutman, the drama explores the challenges of policing in situations where the truth is difficult to define, according to the news release.
In the upcoming season, the story begins with the fatal stabbing of a young man during a political rally. What initially appears to be a murder investigation soon expands into something more dangerous, as detectives uncover a far-right bomb plot. The case forces June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty, two officers with a tense history, to work together despite lingering distrust.

Peter Capaldi returns as Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty, alongside Cush Jumbo as Detective Sergeant June Lenker. The new season also introduces additional cast members, including Dustin Demri-Burns, Luca Pasqualino, Luther Ford, Lyndsey Marshal and Peter Sullivan, joining returning actors Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell Moore and Charlie Creed-Miles.
With the release of the trailer, anticipation is building for the show’s return, as “Criminal Record” prepares to continue its character-driven storytelling and high-stakes investigations. Watch the clip below.
