*Cher is opening up about the significant age difference between herself and her partner, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards. During a November 4 appearance on CBS Mornings, the 79-year-old icon explained why the four-decade gap with the 39-year-old music executive doesn’t matter to her.
Since the couple began dating in 2022, public commentary has focused heavily on their ages, a point Cher dismissed while speaking with host Gayle King. “Whatever,” she stated. “They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.”
According to Cher, Edwards has no concerns about their age difference either. “No, thank God,” she responded when asked if it bothered him. “He just says, ‘You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.'”
The “Believe” singer described the foundation of their connection as straightforward and joyful. “We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him,” she revealed. “I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented,” she added. “He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.”

Cher has also developed a close relationship with Edwards’ 6-year-old son, Slash, whom he shares with influencer Amber Rose. “I used to say, ‘God, give me a toddler and a man,'” Cher said, and noted she received “exactly” what she requested. “He’s so funny. He’s so smart. He’s a delight,” Cher said of the child.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cher also discussed her Cherlato gelato brand, explaining that some flavors are created “in my kitchen.”
