*Fans of “Black Mirror” won’t have to wait much longer, as Netflix’s critically acclaimed anthology series returns for its seventh season on April 10.
Creator Charlie Brooker has promised a season that is “a little bit OG Black Mirror,” hinting at a return to the show’s signature unsettling and thought-provoking storytelling. “They’re all sci-fi stories, but there’s definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror movie way. There’s definitely some disturbing content in it,” Brooker told Tudum.
For the first time in “Black Mirror” history, Season 7 will feature a direct sequel, revisiting the infamous USS Callister episode from Season 4. Fans can expect to see Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, and Billy Magnussen reprise their roles from the mind-bending episode about a virtual reality game gone terrifyingly wrong. But that’s not the only return making waves this season. Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry will also be back, reprising their roles as Tuckersoft employees Colin Ritman and Mohan Thakur from the 2018 interactive film Bandersnatch.
“Charlie is a twisted genius in the best possible way. It’s always fun being part of this incredible, messed-up world that he’s created!” Chaudhry told Tudum. “I’m really excited for fans to see this episode. It might be a familiar world we are revisiting, but maybe even more screwed up if that’s possible.”

Poulter echoed the excitement, adding, “It’s always so fun. [Charlie] writes such spectacular episodes, and I was so grateful that he brought Colin back.” He also teased, “I can’t wait for fans to meet the newest creations that are part of a secret project within Tuckersoft!”
An Expansive Cast and Genre-Bending Episodes
Season 7 will deliver six new episodes, two of which will be “basically feature-length.” Brooker teased the variety of tones this season will explore, saying, “Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.”
The cast is just as intriguing, with new and returning stars including Michele Austin, Ben Bailey Smith, Josh Finan, James Nelson-Joyce, Jay Simpson, and Michael Workéyè. The previously announced lineup also features a star-studded list, including Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Cristin Milioti, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Harriet Walter, among others.
Brooker described the cast as “embarrassingly stacked,” hinting at an exciting blend of talent for the upcoming season.
A Dark and Unpredictable Journey Ahead
As “Black Mirror” prepares to return to screens, fans can expect a mix of classic dystopian horror, biting satire, and eerie technological what-ifs.
“We’ve done a sequel for the first time in Black Mirror history. Normally, I kill off all the characters at the end of an episode, [but] I kept some of ’em alive. I’m growing as a human,” Brooker joked.
