*Ayesha Curry has sparked online debate after candid remarks about her relationship with husband Steph Curry on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast. The mother of three reflected on her early outlook on life, which did not include marriage or children.
“I didn’t want kids. I didn’t wanna get married. I thought I was gonna be career girl, and that’s it,” she admitted during the interview. Curry, who moved to Los Angeles after high school to pursue acting, explained that her path changed dramatically after meeting Steph in college.
Steph and Ayesha started dating in 2008 and married in 2011. Their first child was born the following year, when Ayesha was 23. “After we got married, we found out we were pregnant with our daughter so quickly, I didn’t even have time to think about what I wanted anymore,” Curry said. “It’s so interesting. I spent my entire life, like, trying to work towards something, and then it kind of just disappeared, and I didn’t think twice about it.”

While some listeners praised her honesty, many fans online questioned her openness about such personal matters. One critic wrote, “She doesn’t know what she wants in life ? Never wanted marriage and kids, so gets a SERIOUS BF in college, says yes to the proposal, gets married, and then immediately has a kid. ???”
Others argued that her words came across as undermining her husband. “Life is about tradeoffs. You can’t have it all, every decision comes with pros & cons. Would Steph Curry choose you if you wanted to be a corporate baddie instead, maybe-maybe not, you ain’t wanna roll the dice. Live with it, but don’t undermine your spouse on a podcast,” another fan commented.
A third fan added, “Her feelings are very valid. But some stuff needs to remain private.”
Despite the backlash, the couple remains one of the NBA’s most recognized partnerships.
