*A tragic double homicide in Hazel Park, Michigan, has left a community in shock after Linda Hill, 41, and her 12-year-old son, Kardi Jackson, were found stabbed to death in their Berdeno Avenue home.
According to Law & Crime, both victims suffered multiple slash wounds to their throats, as reported by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. “This is a case of shocking and deplorable violence against a single mother and her son in their own home,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “Linda Hill and Kardi Jackson should still be with us. My heart goes out to their family as they grieve for their loss.”

The grim scene was discovered by Linda’s uncle, who lived in the basement, and alerted police after hearing loud noises, believing only his niece and grandnephew were home. Authorities linked Ladamien Hill, 43, Linda’s brother, to the crime through a red Lincoln seen near the residence around the time of the murders. Family members reported that Hill later entered Linda’s home uninvited, saying “forgive me,” and lay naked in her bed for 5-15 minutes before leaving, according to a Hazel Park Police Department press release.

Investigators searched Hill’s car and residence on September 2, uncovering blood in the vehicle and on clothing, which police claim contained “suspected blood evidence from the crime scene.”
“At this time, we still do not know why this horrific crime occurred,” the police stated, hoping court proceedings will provide answers.
Hill was arraigned on Friday, charged with premeditated first-degree murder, and entered a not guilty plea through his attorney. He is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on September 16.
