*Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order against rapper Tory Lanez, effective until January 9, 2030.
Lanez, currently serving a 10-year sentence for a 2020 incident in which he allegedly shot at Megan’s feet, was accused of harassing her from prison. Judge Richard Bloom approved the motion, citing sufficient evidence, TMZ reports. In the request, Megan (born Megan Pete) described Lanez as a “violent and dangerous criminal.” The restraining order replaces a previous one that expired in 2023.
We reported earlier that Lanez’s legal team disputed Megan’s request for a restraining order, denying her claims that he continues to harass her online from prison.
“Even now, while behind bars, Mr. Peterson shows no signs of stopping,” the petition says, per The Associated Press. “Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms. Pete, Mr. Peterson continues to to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization.”
Lanez’s legal team dismissed these allegations as “ridiculous,” asserting that the truth will emerge in court, TMZ reports.

Megan’s lawyers also accuse blogger Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, known as Milagro Gramz, of spreading false information about the shooting case on behalf of Lanez, citing financial records that show payments made from Lanez’s father to Cooper. According to TMZ, Lanez’s team denies any connection to these payments.
In response to her restraining order request, Lanez’s team criticized Megan for promoting a “false narrative,” referencing her admission in her new Amazon Prime documentary that she lied to Gayle King about having a sexual relationship with Tory.
Megan recounted the trauma of the controversial shooting case with Tory in the doc “Megan Thee Stallion: Her Words,” which was released in October.
“I really thought that once he got sentenced and once he went off to jail, I was going be a new woman and I thought I was going to be great and I could just go be the Megan Thee Stallion I always wanted to be,” she said in the documentary. “No. I still, every day, have to deal with people mad at me because I said what happened to me.”
