Megan (born Megan Pete) recently filed for a restraining order against Lanez (born Daystar Peterson), who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting her in 2020. In the request, she accuses him of ongoing harassment, causing her distress and trauma.
“Even now, while behind bars, Mr. Peterson shows no signs of stopping,” the petition says, per The Associated Press. “Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms. Pete, Mr. Peterson continues to to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization.”
Lanez’s legal team dismissed these allegations as “ridiculous,” asserting that the truth will emerge in court, TMZ reports.
Megan’s lawyers also accuse blogger Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, known as Milagro Gramz, of spreading false information about the shooting case on behalf of Lanez, citing financial records that show payments made from Lanez’s father to Cooper. According to TMZ, Lanez’s team denies any connection to these payments.

On October 30, Megan’s attorneys submitted a lawsuit in Florida, accusing Milagro of serving as a “paid surrogate” for Lanez and using her platform to propagate untruths on his behalf, PEOPLE reports. In the filing, Megan claims Milagro shared a “deepfake pornographic video” of her to social media and “falsely claimed that the firearm Mr. Peterson used to shoot Ms. Pete was not produced during the Trial because it was missing,” the suit states.
According to Megan’s legal team, “the firearm remains in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department.”
In response to her restraining order request, Lanez’s team criticized Megan for promoting a “false narrative,” referencing her admission in her new Amazon Prime documentary that she lied to Gayle King about having a sexual relationship with Tory.
In a statement to TMZ, they also noted that “Megan’s claim that Tory filed legal docs to undermine her new Amazon Prime documentary is ‘ridiculous.’”
