*The Geffen Playhouse presents another prolific story with “Furlough’s Paradise.” It’s another opportunity to support the arts and community engagement.
Specifically in conjunction with Broadway’s Black Out Nights, the Geffen (a Los Angeles theater) has taken their message of inclusion to heart with Black Partner’s Appreciation Night.
Furlough’s Paradise brings a great show to life on stage with intention. The Geffen Playhouse has done their due diligence to make sure that passionate community partners experience a relatable story that is tied to a cause. The Geffen hosted a kickoff event for community organizations in February where The Geffen Playhouse shared their heartfelt commitment for inclusion in all aspects of their productions. They are backing up their declaration with a financial pledge as well.
On Black Partners Night 100% of ticket sales benefit partner organizations. It’s a win for all involved. Black Partners Night starts with the 8:00 pm performance of Furlough’s Paradise, written by a.k. payne. After the show enjoy the after party with a DJ and desserts.
Prepare for an emotional ride when cousins Sade and Mina reunite for the funeral of their mother and aunt.

However, time has rearranged what used to be a close relationship between them.
Now they stand as polar opposites facing the childhood complexities responsible for where they are now.
For the May 2nd performance of Furlough’s Paradise 100% of single ticket proceeds from Black Partners Appreciation Night will benefit our community partners: Black Rebirth Collective, California Black Women’s Health Project, Coco Coalition, Mass Liberation, and Moon Child Collaborative.
When selecting your seats, you may choose to benefit a single organization, or select “Share With All” to have ticket proceeds shared equally among all organizations.
