*Chances of Sean “Diddy” Combs testifying in court are very slim. According to the Associated Press, the move was acknowledged by Combs’ lawyer Marc Agnifilo told Judge Arun Subramanian that the defense presentation could last less than two days and not more than five.
If Combs testified, the estimate would likely not apply. The lack of testimony from Combs marks the latest development in the 55-year-old music mogul’s headline-generating trial. Prosecutors are expected to rest their case on Monday (06-23-25), assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey said.
The six-week ordeal has been a hotbed of revelations, with testimony from two of Combs’ former girlfriends, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a woman who testified under the pseudonym “Jane,” occupying two of the weeks.
During the trial, the women told jurors that Combs used threats and monetary incentives to coerce them into frequent multi-day sex marathons where he watched, directed and sometimes filmed them engaging with male sex workers. Ventura and James added that their participated in the marathons stemmed from a desire to be with Combs.
Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges, has been jailed at a federal lockup in Brooklyn since his September arrest at a Manhattan hotel.

Jurors got a glimpse of the “freak-off” encounters on June 10, when they were shown nearly 20 minutes of explicit video recordings encounters from 2012 and 2014. The move was done by a defense lawyer who cross examined a law enforcement agent about the tapes.
Combs’ romance with Ventura spanned from 2007 to 2018, while Jane dated the Bad Boy Records founder from 2021 until his arrest last fall.
The AP noted how uncomfortable the recordings were for jurors while listening to them. In particular, one juror who seemed to turn away from his video screen for most of the time, despite keeping on earphones carrying the sound to jurors. As the recordings played on the screens in front of them, the other jurors listed as they sat back in their seat
Spectators were blocked from seeing or hearing the graphic evidence, according to the AP, which noted that jurors were shown about two minutes of snippets of the recordings on Monday.
Since their inclusion in the trial, the recordings have been an important factor in the proceedings. In openings statements on May 12, the defense and prosecution have touched on the recordings and their impact, with defense lawyer Teny Geragos labeling videos “powerful evidence that the sexual conduct in this case was consensual and not based on coercion.”

Although Geragos acknowledged the videos may be “hard to watch” for some, she emphasized they were “intimate” and “always meant to remain that way.”
“These videos will feel invasive,” Geragos added, “the government has charged him with sex trafficking, and the evidence of the alleged sex trafficking is on these videos. This is why you will have to see them.”
In her argument, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson said that Combs “used lies, drugs, threats, and violence to force and coerce, first, Cassie, and later Jane, to have sex with him in front of male escorts. The defendant insisted that the sex occur in a very specific, highly orchestrated way.”
Despite their differing opinions, judge Subramanian scolded prosecutors and defense lawyers about leaked information about a closed court proceeding involving a juror that was leaked to a media outlet on May 13. The irate justice was not pleased over the leak as she attributed it to “one or more people in this courtroom” who “clearly violated the court’s order.”
Seeking to avoid future slip ups, Subramanian issued his only warning to Comey and Agnifilo, making it known that the attorneys would be held responsible for any slip ups that happen as well as any violations of his orders, which could result in criminal contempt penalties “at the most extreme level.”
