*The 2025 American Music Awards, held in Las Vegas, celebrated a dazzling array of musical talent, with Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, and Eminem emerging as some of the night’s biggest stars. The event, broadcast live, showcased unforgettable performances and heartfelt moments, honoring both rising stars and industry legends.
Billie Eilish dominated the evening, securing victories in all seven categories she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for her acclaimed “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” Her single “Birds of a Feather” also won Song of the Year and Favorite Pop Song, while she was recognized as Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, and for Favorite Pop Album.
Beyoncé celebrated two major wins, taking home Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album for her groundbreaking “Cowboy Carter.” In the country category, Post Malone marked a milestone with his first AMA win as Favorite Male Country Artist. Eminem earned Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).”
Jennifer Lopez, returning as host for the first time in a decade, kicked off the show with an electrifying dance medley featuring 23 of the year’s biggest hits. The evening was elevated by iconic moments, including Janet Jackson’s acceptance of the Icon Award. Jackson, who delivered her first televised performance in seven years, served up a medley of “Someone to Call My Lover” (blended briefly with Mariah Carey’s “Shake It Off”) and “All For You.” Watch the moment via the clip above.

In her acceptance speech, Jackson reflected on her legacy: “No disrespect in any way, but I don’t consider myself an icon. My family, myself, our dream wasn’t ever to be famous. We weren’t raised like that. We always had a special love for music, dancing, and singing, and fame came with the result of hard work and dedication. My story, my family’s story, it’s truly an American story.”
Gwen Stefani performed her new single “Swallow My Tears” alongside classics “The Sweet Escape” and “Hollaback Girl.” Rod Stewart received the Lifetime Achievement Award and closed the night with a performance of “Forever Young.”
