*United Airlines made headlines in San Francisco on Thursday when one of its flights experienced a tire malfunction shortly after takeoff, causing the tire to fall onto parked cars at SFO Airport.
Video footage captured the moment the Boeing 777 departed for LAX with 249 passengers, only for the landing gear to retract and release the tire above an employee parking lot.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported on the ground, but some vehicles were damaged. The damaged plane was able to land safely at LAX due to its design with multiple tires on each landing gear.
All passengers were transferred to a new aircraft for their journey to Osaka later that evening.
