Torrei Hart Says Touring with Katt Williams is No Shade to Ex Kevin Hart | Video

*Torrei Hart is speaking out about her controversial decision to tour with Katt Williams, claiming she is not shading her ex-husband, Kevin Hart, who has beef with the comedian.

We reported earlier that Torrei will join Williams on multiple dates for his upcoming The Dark Matter Tour. She’ll appear in Charlotte on Jan. 27, Orlando on Feb. 2, and Tampa on Feb. 3., with more dates expected to be announced. 

Several social media users called Williams messy for inviting Torrei on tour with him, especially after he described Kevin as an “industry plant” during his viral interview with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this month.

TMZ Hip Hop caught up with Hart’s ex-wife this week to get her reaction to the critics, and Torrei noted that she and Williams have been friends for years. 

“That’s my boy, we’ve known each other for years,” Hart told the outlet. “It’s only right. I’ve opened up for Katt before, he’s given me plenty of opportunities, we’ve shot a movie together, and we’re close. We’re so close Katt has watched my dog before.”

“We’re friends,” she added. “We’ve known each other 20 years. This isn’t something that just happened.”

Hart continued, “I’m coming from a place of ‘It’s my time.’ I’ve been doing the work for years and now it’s my time. So yeah, definitely, it is helping me emerge out of the shadows. A lot of people don’t know I’ve been doing comedy for almost 15 years. This isn’t new. I’ve been putting in the work from chicken shacks to the main stages. I tell jokes anywhere, I don’t care.”

Hart clarified that her current career moves with Katt are “no shade at all to Kevin.”

“Whatever’s going on between him and Katt, that’s not my beef,” she said. “I have been with no one, okay?”
