*Looks like somebody dropped a dime and … well, let’s stop the speculating and get right to it. Fani Willis the Fulton County DA whose office is prosecuting the Donald Trump election interference/RICO case, was accused Monday of having an “improper” romantic relationship with a top prosecutor in that case and may have also benefitted financially.

Thanks to reporting by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution/AJC we know that the bombshell motion was filed on behalf of a Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, a 2020 campaign official charged alongside the former president.

Roman’s motion alleges Willis benefited financially from her relationship with special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, a private attorney hired to prosecute Trump’s case. Hmm, there could be something here. That’s because County records indicate that Wade has been paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. And yes, the DA (Willis) authorized his compensation.

The motion also alleged Willis and Wade took vacations together during the period Wade was being paid by Willis’ office. Trips to Napa Valley and Florida, as well as a pair of Caribbean cruises by Willis and Wade, were listed. However, the filing did not include documentation of how those purchases were made.

The filing also claims Willis and Wade were engaged in a romantic relationship before the special prosecutor’s appointment, and ever since “have been engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case.”

The AJC also reports that Pallavi Bailey, a Willis spokeswoman, stated that the DA’s office will respond to Roman’s allegations “through appropriate court filings.”  It goes on to note that at this time, it’s unclear if the accusations will blow up the validity of the indictment against Trump and the remaining 14 co-defendants or simply muddy the waters by questioning Willis’ professional ethics.

Roman’s attorney, Ashleigh Merchant, said that the “motion is not filed lightly. Nor is it being filed without considerable forethought, research or investigation,” In a statement to the news outlet.
