*Dr. Dre said his production on Snoop Dogg’s upcoming solo album, “Missionary” is on par with their iconic albums “The Chronic” and “Doggystyle.”
“This one is gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music,” Dre told Entertainment Tonight. “I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career. [It’s been] much more fun.”
Vibe reports that “Missionary” was initially teased in 2022 by Michael “Harry-O” Harris, the convicted drug kingpin who provided the initial funding for Death Row Records.
“It hits me sometimes when I’m sitting with [Dr.] Dre and Snoop, and just watchin’ these guys and who they became,” said Harris at the time. “I was just talkin’ to Doctor the other day—I talk to all the Death Row family, and we’re gonna all come together and do some incredible things. Because all of it has grown from our different journeys. It’s multiple stories that will be told, and we will make sure that everybody that was a part of somethin’ gets what they got comin’.’”
“Missionary” doesn’t have an official release date yet but is tentatively scheduled to drop before the end of the year.
We reported earlier that Dr. Dre took center stage during the 2024 Olympic Closing Ceremony, joining Snoop Dogg in Los Angeles for a show-stopping performance. Now Dr. Dre is setting his sights on the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles—this time as a competitor in archery.
“I’m trying to try out for the Olympics in 2028,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m dead-ass serious,” he noted about his desire to compete in archery.
“Actually, I started playing around with archery in junior high, alright? I stopped for a while, and my son bought me a set-up… I don’t know if it was for my birthday or Father’s Day or something like that. So I have it set up in my backyard,” Dr. Dre explained.
