Donald Glover, the award-winning rapper and actor, recently shared that he and his wife Michelle White managed to have a quick wedding and he still made it to work on the same day.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Glover revealed that they tied the knot on the day he had to go on set for the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” Prime Video series.
The couple took advantage of a day where they didn’t have to be on set until noon or 1pm and decided to get married in the morning.
“Yeah. There was a day where I don’t think we had to be on set until noon or 1, so, I was like, ‘Can we get married today?’ I got married in the morning,” the 40-year-old revealed. “We had a real wedding afterward, too. [That night] we went to our favorite restaurant and then her parents and my mom were waiting for us at the house.”
Interestingly, seven years ago in a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Glover expressed his disbelief in marriage and stated that it didn’t serve the purpose he desired.
When asked about what changed his mind, the 40-year-old “Atlanta” actor explained that initially, he wasn’t sure what he would gain from marriage but eventually had a change of heart.
