*David Banda, the son of pop icon Madonna, recently caused a stir with social media posts suggesting he was struggling to find food after moving out of his mother’s home. Earlier today (07-22-24), he took to Instagram to set the record straight.
Banda posted an emphatic message on his Instagram Story, addressing the concerns of his followers.
“TO ALL OF THOSE CONCERNED: My mother is very supportive of me. She has always been supportive of me. I am very happy in my life and I am not living out on the streets, starving! Please stop worrying, everything is good.”
Having moved to the Bronx with his girlfriend after turning 18, David insists he is thriving in his new environment.
He notes that he has been making money by teaching guitar lessons, thus dispelling any rumors that he was struggling financially.

David’s recent comments about scavenging for food late at night were meant to highlight the contrast between his past life of luxury and his new, more modest reality. However, many took his comments literally, prompting concerns over his wellbeing.
“Clearly, that’s not the case,” David said, implying that some people misunderstood his humor. While fans worried about him adopting the “starving artist” label, others criticized him for seemingly having a safety net thanks to his famous mother.
Despite the chatter, David remains focused on his music career. Back in May, he shared another exciting chapter of his life with his followers. During a tour, he had the chance to sit in at the studio of the legendary Prince and perform on the late artist’s stage. “One of the best experiences on this tour.
Having the chance to sit in Prince’s studio and play on his stage. A true dream come true,” he wrote on Instagram.

Although navigating public opinion can be tricky, especially as a “nepo baby” in 2024, David Banda appears to be embracing his independence and making the most of his opportunities with the steadfast support of his mom, Madonna.
