*Will.i.am is teaming up again with Britney Spears on a surprise single titled “Mind Your Business.” The pair previously collaborated on the 2012 hit “Scream & Shout.”
Will.i.am sat down with “CBS Mornings” co-host Nate Burleson to talk about the meaning behind the new song, saying, “When you’re in the spotlight, a lot of times, you just want to live your life.”
“There’s a thin line, and everyone deserves their version of privacy,” he said.
Spears and will.i.am are longtime friends, and he noted how he championed her “through her times when she was fighting for her liberation,” adding, “she is an amazing person.”
According to will.i.am, when he watches Spears’ Instagram dance videos, he is reminded that they share a similar passion for music.
“I see the same light, the same joy, the same love and passion,” he said.
As he noted, music and dance can be therapeutic for a lot of people.
“And when you have that connection with music and rhythm and song and melody and harmony and you express yourself through that, it helps you with anything that you’re going through,” he said.
