*Britney Spears is speaking out about the Las Vegas incident involving Victor Wembanyama’s security, and she’s demanding a “public apology.”

In a video shared to Instagram on Tuesday, Spears addressed critics who said she “deserved to be smacked” by the security member after she physically made contact with the rising NBA star.

“I heard on the news, this radio station talking smack and talking shit—that’s why I’m addressing it—saying that I deserved to be smacked [and] security was doing their job and protecting their client,” Spears said, Complex reports.

“I’ve been with the most famous people in the world—NSYNC, at one time,” the pop star continued. “Girls would, like, literally throw themselves at them. … My security not one time touched them or even came near them. Point being is I didn’t appreciate the people saying that I deserved to be hit because no woman deserves to be hit. I simply tapped him on the back and I was backhanded, hit my face, came back on the floor. My best friend picked me up and held me. And I did get an apology at my table, 30 minutes later. But I have yet to receive a public apology. And that’s it.”

Spears claims a member of the San Antonio Spurs’ security team slammed her after she gave Wembanyama a friendly tap on the shoulder in an attempt to meet him. According to Wembanyama, the pop star “grabbed” him from behind outside Catch restaurant and that’s why the head of his security popped her in the face.

As People reports, the 19-year-old addressed the situation in a video shared by KENS reporter Nate Ryan on Twitter.

“I saw the news obviously,” Wembanyama told reporters in the clip. “I woke up to a couple of phone calls. Something did happen a little bit when I was walking with some security of the team to some restaurant. We were in a hall and there was a lot of people so people were calling me obviously.”

Wembanyama said he heard “one person” call his name repeatedly but security told him that stopping would result in a large crowd. He was not aware at the time that the person calling him was Spears.

“This story is super embarrassing to share with the world but it’s out there already,” Spears said in an initial statement, Complex reports.  “However, I think it’s important to share this story and to urge people in the public eye to set an example and treat all people with respect.
