According to Page Six, the music icon is survived by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren — most of whom she never met. Turner’s two adoptive sons, Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner are still alive but her two biological sons, Craig Turner and Ronnie Turner, died years before she passed away last month.

Twanna Turner, the daughter of Tina’s first husband, Ike Turner, told Page Six, “It’s time to heal … the family really wants and needs to heal, they have gone through so much, and they continue to go through so much.

“These two powerhouses were such an entity — there will never be another Ike and Tina,” she added.

The music icon died May 24 after battling a “long illness.” Turner’s representatives confirmed to DailyMail.com that she died of natural causes.

As TMZ reports, the legendary singer opened up about her struggles with hypertension, high blood pressure, and kidney issues weeks before her passing.

According to Page Six, Turner “barely knew her son Ronnie’s children, Raquel and Randy, nor did she ever get to meet Raquel’s little boys, Tyson and Tyrese.”

Craig and Ike Jr. never had kids but Michael’s daughter, music producer Tiffany Turner-Dukes, has three children with her husband. Turner never got a chance to meet her three great-grandchildren through Michael, Page Six reports.

According to TMZ, Turner was diagnosed with hypertension in 1978 and said she “didn’t care much about it” and “didn’t really try to control it.”

Turner’s kidneys lost 35% of their function after her 2009 stroke. She received a kidney transplant in 2017 from her second husband, Erwin Bach. The global superstar also battled cancer.  As TMZ reports, Turner said her body attempted to reject her kidney transplant, resulting in frequent hospitalizations.

On May 24, Turner’s team confirmed she passed away at her home in Switzerland. The news of her death was shared on her Instagram account.

“It’s been very difficult, and this is why the family just needs time to grieve, and to be together,” Twanna told Page Six.
