RZA, Misty Copeland & Yvonne Orji to Headline Star-studded UrbanWorld Film Festival

*The famed ballet dancer Misty Copeland, legendary Wu-Tang rapper and filmmaker RZA, and Black astronaut Leland Melvin will join comedian and actress Yvonne Orji, writer Nelson George, and numerous directors, filmmakers, and actors at the 27th annual Urbanworld film festival in New York City, November 1-5th.

Founded in 1997 by Stacy Spikes, the annual five-day celebration of diverse storytelling and innovation has since become a cornerstone event for both established and emerging filmmakers, as well as industry experts, looking to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and celebrate the power of cinema.

The festival was established with the aim of redefining and advancing the presence and impact of the multicultural community in cinema and cross-platform media. Through its screenings, panels, and celebrations, Urbanworld continues to promote diverse voices and perspectives in the world of filmmaking. and showcase the power of diversity in storytelling.

Urbanworld will also host a mix of parties and cultural events.

The Urbanworld Film Festival is an initiative of the Urbanworld Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusivity in cinema and cross-platform media. Through its various programs, the foundation supports emerging talent, hosts workshops, and champions the cause of diversity in the industry.
