*Many months have passed, but Nia Long is yet to recover from shock following the discovery that her ex-fiance, Ime Udoka, cheated on her with a Celtics mistress.
Long was devastated when the news of her then-fiance’s cheating scandal took the internet by storm. That was the last thing she expected Udoka would ever do to her.
The cheating scandal had far-reaching repercussions: not only did Long’s relationship with Udoka come to an abrupt end, but Udoka also lost his job as head coach of the Celtics.
Long, 52, and Udoka were engaged for 10 years, so it is understandable why the “Best Man” actress would still be heartbroken following their breakup. But as she slowly heals, she has got to the point where she can publicly identify the woman who snatched her husband-to-be. Long took to her Instagram page to call out not just her ex-fiance but also the mistress he cheated on her with.
Long also trained her guns on the Celtics, accusing the organization of lacking awareness.
Long shared a video of writer Dr. Yaba Blay speaking to her two friends on their “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast about how the world treats white women’s tears versus black women’s tears.
Long captioned the video, “Where was this level of awareness a year ago @celtics ??? #kathleenlynch.”
It was in this caption that the identity of the mistress whom Udoka had an affair with became known: Kathleen Nimmo Lynch. By hashtagging the name of Udoka’s alleged mistress, Long signaled she is not afraid to set the record straight and that this is not a done deal.
Celtics had all along kept the identity of Kathleen Nimmo Lynch private. Lynch still works for the Celtics.
The cheating was actually discovered by Lynch’s husband, who then took the matter to Celtics. About that time, Lynch began switching her story about her relationship with Udoka. Oddly, Lynch’s husband didn’t divorce her over infidelity, opting to keep her.
Long had just moved to Boston a fortnight before the cheating scandal, and it’s Lynch who reportedly arranged all the travel plans for Nia Long and her son.
