With a stellar cast, the final season sees the cast returning to their respective roles that fans have grown to love throughout the last few years.

“You gotta keep moving on,” Hilton-Jacobs said. “Everything has to move on. There’s no perfect way to do it. But all series have to end of course, or do end. For me personally, for myself, it’s okay.”

McCoy on the other hand jokingly stated, “I don’t like it.”

“I think for me, every season it was like “are you going to kill me off,” McCoy continued. “Now I guess, I know I won’t be coming back because none of us will be, this is the final.

Interestingly, McCoy made her cameo debut in season 2 and became a series regular.

“It’s always surprising because I came in as a cameo,” McCoy said. “Just doing a couple of scenes. Then I came back the next season and my character became more and more developed. I actually say that it’s due to Lawrence and I’s chemistry. It was just really easy and endearing.”

Hilton-Jacobs also shared his perspective on possible fan reactions in the current season.

“We can’t know that,” Hilton-Jacobs said. “I do know that the audience, the fans, they really like the show and they look forward to it to keep coming back. So it’s not going to satisfy everyone because they’re going to say “well why is it over?” or “we want to see more.” Everybody has their take on this.”

As far as what they’ll miss about their characters, McCoy began to get emotional as she and Hilton-Jacobs reflected on memories of playing their characters and working alongside one another throughout the series.

“I don’t think that I’ve played a character that was so- she was so grown,” McCoy said. “So vulnerable; and in love with such a gentle giant of a character.”

“What was happening with LisaRaye and I, I wanted to develop even heavier,” Hilton-Jacobs said. “Because they were two very tough, very strong individuals. But when they came together it was a very sincere and easy love.”
