*After seeing a snippet of an interview with Kevin Hart‘s ex-assistant, we’re not surprised he’s filed a lawsuit against infamous YouTube Blogger Tasha K.
What we are surprised to learn though is that it’s an extortion lawsuit. Hart says Tasha K is trying to get $250,000 out of him in exchange for not releasing the full interview.
In the legal docs first obtained by TheBlast, a representative of Tasha K (real name: Latasha Kebe) allegedly contacted Hart’s team in November, claiming to have a damning interview with an ex-assistant. The blogger is accused of threatening to publish/post it if she wasn’t paid first.
The story goes that Tasha K was served a cease-and-desist letter stating that she had no right to discuss Hart’s business. On top of that, the comedian/actor also let her know she was NOT getting any money.
Then, Tasha K shared a snippet of the interview on her Instagram page (watch it above). Kevin Hart’s team interpreted the move as a threat. In other words, if she wasn’t paid, she’d release the full interview.
“You have already engaged in criminal conduct and tortious acts that would entitle Mr. Hart to monetary damages against you should he elect to commence civil litigation regarding this matter,” according to Hart’s lawsuit against Tasha K. “To the extent that you do not cease and desist now, your liability for such monetary damages will increase, as will your exposure to criminal penalties.”
Now, as far as the ex-assistant, Miesha Shakes is concerned, Hart’s team says she could find herself in deep doo-doo if the full interview is released because she signed an NDA.
Now, about that interview. Shakes makes several revelations about the funnyman, such as he’s allegedly a serial cheater. She accuses him of getting a steward on his private jet pregnant, having sex with an Instagram model behind his wife’s back, and more.
Wait. There’s more. Shakes also alleges that Hart struggles with a gambling addiction and that “poker is his game.” She claims that it once got out of hand, and he was allegedly unable to properly pay his employees.
