*Damson Idris revealed in a new episode of 360 with Speedy Morman that hip-hop icon JAY-Z sponsored his green card when the “Snowfall” actor was on a road to stardom.
“He’s done many things for me over the years, he’s always supported me”, the Nigerian actor said.
“He supports so many people that you don’t even know,” Damon continued, Black Enterprise reports. “Genuinely, I should tell everyone this right now: if you ever run into Jay-Z, just say thank you and keep it moving. He is definitely a pioneer of the culture and of everything. I’ve never told him this but he’s a huge idol of mine. Thank you for that reference.”
Damson also credits LeBron James’ childhood friend Rich Paul for helping him secure residency in the U.S.
“Those guys are really like my big brothers”, he shared, “I’ll be in Miami at like 12 a.m. and I’m like,, ‘Yo I want to go to Carbone and Hov will get on FaceTime like, ‘Damson, you gotta win a couple more Emmys before you can call me at 11:30′ and then boom reservation made. It’s amazing to have giants like that who have your back.”
Meanwhile, Idris is receiving praise for his work in the new Prime Video series “Swarm.” Most recently, social media users had mixed reactions to his steamy sex scene with Chloe Bailey on the show.
Bailey explained in a new interview that she was nervous to do the scene.
“I first read the script, I was like, ‘Oh, this is insane, this is incredible,’ and I cried, and then I realized, you gotta do that sex scene, girl,” she said.
The 24-year-old said she was “very scared” because “I haven’t had that many partners,” Bailey shared.
“I’m not like that—like that sexual and open. Damson made it really comfortable; you know, there were limited people on set. It was a closed set,” she added.
“We literally had a bouncy ball in between us, and you know, we were making a joke out of it, so it took all of the nervousness away from that. I have to give a lot of kudos to him as a man for making me, as a woman, feel comfortable literally being raw and naked,” she continued.
