*Renowned menswear designer Miguel Wilson continues to expose the black community to the sport of polo, and he has done so in only a way that he can – by merging it with bold and inspiring fashion.

On October 8th, he hosted his 6th Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic, this year taking place at the Horse Mansion at Bouckaert Farms. The event, which brought out the horses for a polo match, followed by music, performances, and a fashion show,  drew influential community leaders and celebrities.

Among them were Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who was honored as a special guest, and others like rapper and businessman Jeezy, Cynthia Bailey (Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta), Mimi Faust (VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta), Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson (HGTV’s Married to Real Estate), Lamman Rucker (OWN’s Greenleaf), Demetria McKinney (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne) and Pastor Jamal Bryant (New Birth Missionary Baptist Church).

Singers Q Parker and Lil G (of SILK) performed and actor Palmer Williams (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne) served as emcee of this year’s fashion show.

“This year was the best year we’ve had by far,” Wilson said.

“We put a lot of work into this event every year, so to see the turnout, and the response blows me away each and every time. One of the things that I am most proud of with the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic is that we work hard to give one of the most unique and luxurious experiences centered around fashion and polo.

Behind the rich display of lifestyle and luxury is also an important mission that Wilson started in 2018 when he launched his non-profit, Ride to the Olympics Foundation, which works to provide underprivileged youth with opportunities to participate in equestrian sports. The event served as a fundraiser.

As a result of the organization’s existence, Wilson helped to establish the Morehouse Polo Club, which is the first-ever polo team at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). As the co-founder, he has introduced the sport to new demographics, an achievement that led to him being honored by the State of Georgia and Governor Brian Kemp.

Moving ahead, Wilson continues to be a go-to source for top influencers seeking luxury styles from The Miguel Wilson Collection. His signature stores are located in Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Miami, FL and New York, NY. Already on his roster of high-profile clients such as Hollywood producer Will Packer, rapper 2 Chainz, reality TV stars Peter Thomas and Todd Tucker, NFL players Bobby Rainey and Travis Daniels, and actor Josh Morgan.

Additionally, he plans to play an integral role in creating more youth polo teams through Ride to the Olympics Foundation.
