Beauty Supply Owner Sells Shop After Viral Video Shows Him Choking Black Woman | Watch

*A beauty supply owner in South London was forced to sell his shop after a video went viral of him choking a Black female customer.

“I have nothing in my pocket now, and I’m living off loans from my friends and family. Things are getting worse every day,” Sohail Sindho, 45, told MyLondon.

Sindho was forced to sell his Peckham Hair and Cosmetics shop after the Sept.11 incident, which saw him physically assaulting a 31-year-old woman accused of trying to steal items from the store.

As MadameNoire reports, the woman wanted a refund for her three wigs, but Sindho claimed he informed the customer that there were no refunds. Sindho allegedly offered the woman store credit, but she tried to flee the beauty supply with additional items. The shop owner was simply trying to detain the woman when he grabbed her neck and choked her.

“If somebody is going to steal, everybody has the right to save his property. If you watch the videos, I’ve acted in self-defense,” Sindho told MyLondon. “It was in my rights to do these things. If I have done something wrong, people should go to the police and launch a complaint against me so the police can come and hold me accountable.”

In the viral video, Sindho is seen blocking the Black female shopper from exiting the store. He then grabbed her by the throat and choked her briefly.

“She was asking for a refund, and they told her that is not possible. So she went to the shop, and she told them that if you’re not gonna get my refund, I want to get what I’m supposed to get for my money,” a witness who filmed the video told MyLondon. “When she tried to leave the shop, the guy pushed her. He pushed her out, and then he became aggressive.”

Sindho claims he lost everything after the video went viral. He and his children have been hiding out “in the countryside” amid protests outside the shop, with demonstrators demanding he be held accountable.

“My kids haven’t had a warm meal in a month. They have been eating bread with jam and chocolate,” he said.
