EJ King, Emily B, Eva Marcille Seemingly Gloated Over Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

*EJ King and other stars are being admonished for taking Megan Thee Stallion’s misfortune lightly and even seeming to gloat. But the primary culprit is the celebrity fashion and Megan Thee Stallion’s former stylist EJ King.

King started it off after taking to the stand to testify on December 19, about the events that took place shortly before the assault of Megan Thee Stallion. Once he was done detailing the events in court, EJ took a moment outside the court to pose for the cameras. This also offered him an opportunity to show off his attire — chic oversized pink blazer and slouchy denim pinstriped pants.

King later took to Instagram to share images and videos of him talking with the reporters on the courthouse steps. But there was something else: he added Law & Order as the theme song, and viewers of his post could hear the song playing in the background. It’s this addition that set off things in the wrong direction.

Fans and other stars reacted to this in the comments section of his post. Some celebs also ‘liked’ the post, and this alone thrust them in the center of the backlash that followed, for some social media folks felt the post was offensive. They called out EJ King for being insensitive; they also admonished the celebrities who added salt to the injury by making fun of Meg’s shooting.

But first, a sample of some of the comments before the backlash:

“Is the law and order music for me. I love you,” wrote model and reality TV star Eva Marcille.

“The music is taking me out,” wrote ‘Love & Hip Hop’s Emily B.

The conversation soon found its way to “The Neighborhood Talk.”

When the backlash started, it was a heavy downpour. Guns were trained on the likes of Emily B, Hazel E, Eva Marcille, and other stars who had taken the shooting matter lightly. Emily B, Hazel E, and Eva Marcille were especially circled because they themselves have been victims of domestic violence, so they needed to treat the matter with the seriousness it deserves.

Wrote one displeased Twitter user, “None of these people were ever Megan Thee Stallion’s friend. Not Tory, not Kelsey, not EJ, not any of the influencers laughing about her in the comments on IG. I hope she’s learned that you really gotta be careful who you call a friend cause BABY… it’s not looking good.”

“Every “celebrity” laughing @ Meg’s situation in the comments have all been PUBLICLY abused in the worst ways .. by men.. the audacity of them. But this speaks to the damage of their spirits,” cried another user.

“@emilyb_ you shouldn’t have commented at all!” quipped another user. “You made your cries of mistreatment and abuse public, and sought people’s support and wanted ppl to rally behind you, but here you are in mentions. Making light of an ongoing seriously traumatizing trial process Meg is going thru,..and you stupidly comment and then add insult to injury, and back peddle without an apology? Miss us all with that BS.”

Emily B came out to explain herself in the comments section of “The Neighborhood Talk” as the backlash persisted.

“Now I usually don’t do this & respond but I’m not ok with this narrative -I would never laugh at any women’s trauma,” wrote the 41-year-old Emily B. Come on now. Y’all know me better than that. I have no clue what is even happening. I blindly commented. – I was commenting on a song choice, not Meg or anyone else involved. Period. Have a goodnight.”

Not to be left out, King also came out after the storm and argued his case best he could in a video post (immediately above).

He said, “To know me is to know I put music over everything, every video, every post. If it fits the moment, I’ll find a song that fits; that’s just something I do. I don’t need to poke fun at anyone’s pain or trauma or make a joke.”

He added, “I was subpoenaed to go to court, and I know this is a very serious situation, but this was my day in court. That’s how I felt. I didn’t say names, I didn’t give any references, I didn’t do nothing of the sort.”

“You treated court like a fashion show; I treated a public thing that was going to be seen by the public so I would never look crazy. I liked my outfit, I liked how I looked, and clearly, the people in court liked how I looked. I don’t need to poke fun or be insensitive to the situation. That’s yall being insensitive.”

In court testimony, King claimed that Megan and Kelsey were drinking excessively during the night of the 2020 shooting and that he tried in vain to convince Megan to depart from the party around 8-9 PM.
