*The man who attacked Dave Chappelle onstage at the Hollywood Bowl in May has been sentenced to 9 months behind bars.

Isaiah Lee, 24, was sentenced Thursday to 270 days in Los Angeles County jail, TMZ reports. Lee agreed to deal with prosecutors and pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of entering a restricted area during a live event and battery.

We reported previously that Lee attacked Chappelle onstage during his set at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival. He later said he was “triggered” by the comedian’s jokes about the LGBTQ+ community.

“I identify as bisexual … and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering,” Lee, 23, previously said in a jailhouse interview with The New York Post. At the time he was incarcerated at Twin Towers Correctional Facility. “I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.”

Lee attended the May 3 “Netflix is a Joke” show and somehow made it inside the highly secured Hollywood Bowl with a replica gun that had an ejectable knife blade. Lee reportedly did not use the weapon to attack Dave, and for this reason, he did not face felony charges.

Lee was captured on video rushing the stage during Chappelle’s set and pushing the comedian, knocking him to the ground. Lee attempted to flee but Dave, security guards, and members of Chappelle’s entourage caught him and roughed him up.

“They spat on me and twisted me as if on purpose,” Lee said of the security guards. He reportedly suffered a broken arm and two black eyes.

Lee said he became angry during the comedy show while reflecting on Chappelle’s prior jokes about the LGBTQ community and homelessness.

“I’m also a single dad and my son is five,” said Lee who was once homeless himself. “It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.”

In related news, Lee is facing an attempted murder charge for allegedly stabbing his roommate.
