*On Monday’s episode of The Howard Stern Show, the shock jock and former “America’s Got Talent” judge blasted Simon Cowell over NBC’s firing of Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough from the competitive reality show.
Howard Stern slammed Cowell, creator of AGT, claiming he “orchestrated” the release of Union and Hough because he’s always looking to add “hotter chicks and younger chicks” to the judging panel, Deadline reports.
“He has set it up that the men stay,” Stern said, “no matter how old they are, no matter how fat they are, no matter how ugly they are, no matter talentless they are. But what he manages to do on all his shows is he constantly replaces the hot chicks with hotter chicks and younger chicks. Which is so obvious.”

Stern noted when Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Mel B were let go, Cowell and Howie Mandel stayed. Cowell replaced Stern as a judge on the show in 2016. Other male judges over the years include Chris Hardwick, Seal, Ken Jeong, and George Lopez.
Stern’s comments come a day after NBC, Fremantle and Cowell’s company Syco issued a statement about how they are handling the fallout with Union.
“We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture. We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate.”
Union was fired from AGT last week after complaining about a toxic work environment and racially charged incidents on set
Union even reported to NBC bosses a seemingly racist joke about Koreans made backstage by Jay Leno during his guest judge visit.
Leno was asked about the allegation over the weekend by TMZ, and he reportedly responded: “I love Gabrielle Union. She’s a great girl. I really enjoyed working with her. She’s really good.”
