Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard Wreak Havoc in 2nd Trailer for ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’ (Watch)

*Mahershala Ali and Alfre Woodard get their closeups in the latest trailer for “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” the second released by Netflix ahead of the show’s Friday, Sept. 30 premiere at 12:01 a.m. PT.

Set mostly to Nas’ “Made You Look,” the new trailer (released Monday, Sept. 26) is heavy on Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes and Woodard as Mariah Dillard the main troublemakers for Cage (Mike Colter).

A sabotaged experiment has left Cage with super strength and unbreakable skin. Although he doesn’t want to be different, he heeds the call to use his attributes to help his crime-ridden Harlem hometown – all while being forced to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Also in the new trailer is Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Method Man, who makes a cameo as himself during a liquor store robbery.

Mike Colter plays the charismatic lead character, Luke Cage and is joined by Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).

“Marvel’s Luke Cage” is Executive Produced by series showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (SouthLAnd, Ray Donovan), Charles Murray (Roots) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
