‘About That’ Wraps Production in L.A.

*Los Angeles, CA – Arch Productions announces “About That” a short film about a man in the midst of a psychotic break who falls in love with the perfect woman.

“About That” stars Damien D. Smith (The Problem Y, Comedy Central’s “Tosh.0”, TV One “Born Again Virgin” ) as Jonathan, who finds his perfect match in Summer, portrayed by Crystal Cotton (Hair, Air, Innocent Eyes).

Making his directorial debut with”About That” Smith aims to showcase a relationship that was less than conventional, touching on the reality of mental illness in the process.

“The film is a sensitive love story,” Smith explains, “about a fragile reality constructed by Jonathan who needs his world to stay in tact. But, he feels that he’s under siege by friends who are trying to pull him back to reality”.

An accomplished theater actor, Smith’s professional credits include Father & Son’s (“Blue Suit Devil”) at the Samuel French Playwrights Fest, Native Son (“Gus”) at The Classical Theater of Harlem, and roles in the national touring production of Between the Lines Productions’ Dread Scott Case (“Dread Scott”) and the regional touring production in Westco Productions revival of To Kill A Mocking Bird (“Tom Robinson”).

His one-man show, Just Happy to Be Here?, earned him a nomination for an Audelco Award for Best Solo Performance. Next up, he’ll reprise his role in as “Jasper Jones” in a national touring revival of Fred Thomas Jr.’s award-winning play 12’x9’.

“About That” is executive produced by Smith and Adrienne Buchanan of Innovation Wisdom Productions with cinematography by Noel Maitland (Assassins).
