*Caresha Brownlee, known professionally as Yung Miami of the City Girls, has written a heartfelt character letter defending Sean “Diddy” Combs following his recent federal conviction.
On July 2, 2025, Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution, a verdict that could carry a prison sentence of up to 20 years. He was acquitted, however, of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Now, the 55-year-old music mogul is exploring ways to reduce his potential sentence. His attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, told Business Insider that Combs hopes to take part in programs and use his platform to advocate for change, particularly by speaking with young people and others. “That’s something that he actively wants to pursue in the future,” she said.
In her letter, Brownlee offers a different perspective on Diddy’s character, emphasizing his kindness, generosity, and the meaningful role he has played in the lives of those around him. She described Combs as “loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging.”

Reflecting on their three-year relationship, she credited him with inspiring her growth both personally and professionally. She praised his devotion to family, noting that he “never missed holidays or special moments” with loved ones. The letter also recounted his quiet acts of charity, including how they would serve meals to the homeless on Thanksgiving without publicity or cameras.
Brownlee emphasized Combs’ commitment to personal growth, noting his participation in therapy and anger management. She described him as a positive influence, stating, “Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community. He is a man of God who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually.”
Meanwhile, Combs, currently detained in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, has ignited controversy with his plan to become an anti-domestic violence counselor.

However, Combs’ accusers have fiercely criticized the proposal. Douglas Wigdor, attorney for Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie, told Rolling Stone, “This is utterly preposterous.” Another alleged victim, who claims Combs physically assaulted them in 2010, questioned his motives, stating, “How are you going to counsel someone else when you haven’t done the work on yourself?”
As Combs faces sentencing next month, Brownlee’s words are joined by letters from his mother and children, all advocating for leniency. Her statement to the court closed with a direct appeal to the judge: “That’s a good man.”
