*NBA fans were ecstatic to see LeBron James team up with longtime rival Steph Curry to secure gold for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As we reported earlier, Curry recently opened up to PEOPLE about setting aside their past rivalry and joining forces.
“All the battles we’ve had on the court and the back and forth, the fact that we actually got to be teammates, not just in any game like an All-Star game or whatever, but in high stakes basketball with a lot on the line…I think there’s a deepened respect and friendship there,” Curry said.
“Hopefully, there will be more experiences in the future, even if we’re teammates or not,” he added, noting that he and James “still have to compete against each other” once the NBA season kicks off in October.
“I posted the picture of us holding our medals,” said Curry. “There’s a sense of pride being an Olympian.”

Curry discussed his relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers star during a recent appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” He shared how he improved his game after two disappointing performances in the Paris Games.
“It’s positive self-talk. We were winning, and I was doing my part—setting screens, playing hard—but I wasn’t making shots,” Curry told Colbert.
“I knew at some point I’m going to need to make some shots because that’s why I’m here. After we played Puerto Rico, I was doing an interview, and they were asking me, ‘What’s wrong with your shot? Are you worried about it?’ I said, ‘No, we’re winning, and I know a flurry is coming.’ As soon as I said that, LeBron walks behind me and says, ‘Damn right it is.’ That gave me a lot of confidence,” the four-time NBA champion added.
“It caught me off guard because, you know, I had to get used to liking that guy after all of our battles. Now we’re teammates and friends, but it was a confidence boost, and it came at the right time.”
