*Sheryl Underwood is shedding new light on her long-strained relationship with Sharon Osbourne, including a private gesture she made in the wake of a devastating loss.
The comedian and television personality sat down with the hosts of “The View” on March 10 to revisit the 2021 on-air blowup and reflect on whether healing is still possible.
Sharon’s husband, rock star Ozzy Osbourne, died in 2025 at age 76, succumbing to cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease. In the grief that followed, Underwood said she felt compelled to contact Sharon despite the unresolved tension between them. “I still believe there’s some love between me and Sharon Osbourne. I tried to reach out when Ozzy passed,” Underwood said, Us Weekly, reports.
“I love her. Sometimes you find out, your coworkers, your colleagues … you hope that it doesn’t get as big. I’m going to be honest with you, you don’t sit next to somebody for that amount of time and don’t have no love,” she added.

Underwood wanted to connect but held back from leaving a recorded message, worried about the consequences of doing so in a highly scrutinized industry. “I was afraid to leave a voicemail,” she explained, adding that “in the business we’re in, your voicemail will show up somewhere or be misunderstood.”
The rift between the two women traces back to a volatile on-air moment centered on Meghan Markle’s accusations of racist behavior within the British royal family. Underwood broke down what unfolded, recalling her decision to confront both Sharon and Piers Morgan over their repeated attacks on Markle.
“What happened, when you started talking about Meghan Markle, I said to Piers [Morgan] when he came on the show and to Sharon, ‘Y’all got to get off Meghan Markle.’ We will not let you drag her because her mama is from Windsor Hills. Meghan is in Windsor Palace,” Underwood said.
“I sat next to [Sharon] for years and I do believe that when she’s hurt, she’s really hurt, and maybe there’s some things that both of us could’ve done differently. I believe that what really happened to me, I had gotten into a couple of problem discussions on The Talk … and God let me live to correct some of the things that I said,” she continued
Years removed from the incident, Underwood conveyed a sense of shared accountability and said she welcomes the chance for a face-to-face resolution. “I haven’t done everything right, but if somebody could pull us together … Howard Stern, pull us together. Y’all, pull us together,” she told the hosts.
