*Sherri Shepherd is responding publicly to the cancellation of daytime talk show after its fourth season concludes. The host addressed the news on social media, expressing gratitude to viewers while also sharing a personal health update.
On Tuesday, February 3, Shepherd posted a message on Instagram acknowledging the wave of support she has received since the cancellation was announced. “Wow! I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for me and The @sherrishowtv,” she wrote.
Shepherd explained that viewers may have noticed she seemed off recently, adding, “You might’ve noticed that yesterday and today I was struggling because I wasn’t feeling up to speed. Well it turns out I have Covid.”

Shepherd noted that she plans to speak more fully about the show’s future once she has recovered. “As soon as I feel better and return to the show, I will address all of the news that has come out,” she shared. She closed the post by thanking fans for the impact the show has had, writing, “Until then, I am truly grateful that SHERRI has made such an impact on you! See ya soon❤️ #sherrishepherd #sherrishowtv #grateful #itsnotover.”
The decision to cancel “Sherri” was addressed earlier this week by Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus. In a joint statement released Monday, they said, “This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd.” They also emphasized continued support for Shepherd, adding, “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”
Production on the fourth season will continue as planned, with final episodes expected to air in the fall. “Sherri” debuted in September 2022, filling the daytime slot left vacant after “The Wendy Williams Show” ended due to Wendy Williams’ health issues. Although the series is concluding, new episodes are expected to remain in syndication through 2026.
As Shepherd recovers from COVID-19, she has reassured fans that she intends to return to taping and address the show’s conclusion directly once she is well enough to do so.
