“I feel good,” the 60-year-old wife of actor Terry Crews said, NBC News reports. “I’m able to write my name and my dates, and I’m able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years.”
She began experiencing the first signs of Parkinson’s around 2012, though it took several years before she received a formal diagnosis in 2015. Her early symptoms were subtle but concerning, starting with sudden numbness in her left foot, a noticeable limp, and limited movement in her left arm—issues that doctors initially did not identify as Parkinson’s. The progression became clearer when she noticed a tremor in her hand, prompting a Parkinson’s specialist to finally confirm the condition.

Her recent treatment involved a bilateral focused ultrasound procedure, approved by the FDA last year, which uses the Exablate Neuro device to deliver targeted ultrasound waves to areas of the brain responsible for movement symptoms. Guided by magnetic resonance imaging, the procedure can produce immediate improvements and serves as an alternative for those who prefer not to undergo deep brain stimulation. While it is not a cure and does not replace medication, it has provided significant relief.
Following treatment on the right side of her body in March, King-Crews reported that tremors on her right side are gone, her balance has improved, and she has been able to reduce her medication. She plans to undergo the procedure on her left side in September.
“Part of the procedure is improved symptoms, so you’re improved on one side (but) not on the other,” she explained. “However, each day that I do things, I’m aware of the benefit that’s already been to me on the one side of the body. So I’m looking forward to doing the left side.”
