Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, are planning to become “financially independent” after stepping down as senior working royals.
A royal source told PEOPLE in January that Prince Charles will be offering his son and daughter-in-law private financial support.
A statement from Buckingham Palace in January also noted that Harry and Meghan “will no longer receive public funds for Royal duties.” Additionally, the couple will no longer use their royal titles but they are free to seek employment, as long as their post-royal life upholds the values of Queen Elizabeth II. “Once a jerk always a jerk. Glad to see you’ve got a lot of extra time on your hands for dealing with this critical issue. You being distracted saves lives. period,” one person tweeted.
Another added, “How is this relevant right now? I don’t remember Harry and Meghan asking the U.S to pay for their protection. I guess someone’s still mad he wasn’t invited to the Royal wedding.”
A third noted, “Hey President: You might quit fixating on princes or princesses or poll numbers, and concentrate more on pandemic and people and patients.”
