*The mother of Stephen “tWitch” Boss issued a response to Allison Holker’s claim that the late dancer was using drugs before his death.
We reported earlier… Holker is catching heat online from tWitch fans for revealing in a new interview that he had addiction problems. Speaking to PEOPLE, Allison claimed she discovered Stephen’s drug addiction in a “very scary” moment before his funeral. Boss, who served as a co-executive producer for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and longtime deejay, died by suicide at age 40 in December 2022. Holker, also a dancer, said she uncovered a “cornucopia” of drugs inside the home after his passing.
Boss’ mother, Connie Boss Alexander, took to Instagram on Thursday to call Holker’s bombshell remarks “misleading and hurtful.”
“The recent publications spreading untruths about Stephen have crossed every line of decency. As his mother, I will not let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished. He doesn’t deserve this, and his kids don’t deserve this,” she continued.
“For the last two years, I have remained quiet and away from the public eye to protect my family. My primary focus has been on healing and attempting to remain connected to my grandchildren. But when I read those dreadful claims about my baby, our beloved Stephen, I realized I could not stay silent any longer. Our family will ensure his name and memory are protected, and we are committed to defending his honor,” Alexander added.

In her upcoming memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light,” Holker “reveals how she has navigated the emotional and financial aftermath of Stephen’s choice, guided their three children in their grief while managing the outpouring from a well-meaning public, and reopened herself to the next chapter in her professional and personal life,” per the publisher.
After sharing the video of her PEOPLE interview, one of Holker’s Instagram followers commented, “This whole thing made me sad. He’s gone. Why tear apart this name? I was fully supportive about you moving in and being happy but this@paycheck was not worth disgracing his name.”
Holker responded, claiming she’s “Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support.” She also shared a post from a fan defending her actions.
“To fans of Stephen and our family and friends, I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday. “Just like you, I never really knew what happened, and even as I am trying to put the pieces together I will never really know.”
