*Morgan Freeman has admitted that his enthusiasm for acting has softened slightly after more than six decades in the industry.
The 88-year-old Oscar-winning actor’s journey began in the 1960s. He shared his thoughts on his career ahead of the release of his latest film, “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” revealing that while the excitement may have dimmed, his dedication remains intact.
“The appetite is still there,” Freeman told The Guardian. “I will concede that it’s dimmed a little. But not enough to make a serious difference.”
Freeman also emphasized that retirement is not on his mind. “Sometimes the idea of retirement would float past me but, as soon as my agent says there’s a job or somebody wants you or they’ve made an offer, the whole thing just boils back into where it was yesterday: how much you’re going to pay, where we’re gonna be?” he explained.
Freeman’s remarks come as the third installment of the “Now You See Me” franchise hits theaters Friday. Following the global success of the previous films, a fourth movie is already in development. Freeman, who starred alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco in the first two films, will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming sequel.
At the heart of the story is the uneasy alliance between the two groups of magicians, who must set aside differences to outwit a cunning opponent. Studio notes promise “a magic-fueled heist filled with the franchise’s signature twists, turns, and thrilling reveals — along with some of the most thrilling illusions ever captured on film.”
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” continues the continuity established by “Now You See Me” (2013) and “Now You See Me 2” (2016), which have grossed nearly $700 million worldwide.
