*A grocery freezer staple is officially heading toward extinction. The Coca-Cola Company has announced the end of frozen juice concentrate cans bearing the Minute Maid name, with the phase-out covering both the United States and Canada, Cleveland.com reports.
Several flavors are among those being retired, including orange juice, lemonade, limeade, pink lemonade, and raspberry lemonade. Retailers may continue moving existing stock for the time being, though once those supplies are exhausted, the frozen cans will disappear from freezer aisles entirely.
Coca-Cola attributed the move to an evolution in how consumers approach their beverage choices. The company signaled its intention to pivot toward products that speak more directly to what today’s market demands, acknowledging that the frozen concentrate category no longer aligns with where the brand is headed.

The Minute Maid frozen concentrate line traces its origins to 1946, when the product emerged as a practical solution for families wanting juice without the labor of squeezing fresh fruit. Households embraced the format — a frozen mixture that required nothing more than water to prepare — and it carved out a lasting presence in American homes for the better part of a century.
But the broader beverage industry has undergone a quiet revolution in the decades since. The modern consumer has largely turned away from anything requiring preparation, opting instead for grab-and-go formats. Bottled juices, flavored waters, and other no-fuss options have steadily claimed more market share, leaving traditional frozen concentrate with a shrinking audience.
Coca-Cola has indicated the frozen juice line will be fully off the market by next month.
